  • 1719 - Wythe's father, Thomas Wythe III, marries his mother, Margaret Keith Walker
  • 1726/1727 - George Wythe born
  • 1740s - Wythe apprenticed to Stephen Dewey
  • 1746 - Margaret Wythe dies? Or 1755?
  • 1746, Spring - Wythe licensed to practice in county courts
  • December 26, 1747 - Wythe marries Ann Lewis (both are 21 years old)
  • August 8, 1748 - Ann Wythe dies
  • 1748/1749 - Wythe appointed clerk to two committees in the House of Burgesses
  • 1754 - Wythe temporarily becomes Attorney General, is elected to the House of Burgesses representing Williamsburg and is admitted to the General Court bar
  • 1755 - Wythe inherits the family plantation of Chesterville when his older brother, Thomas Wythe dies without heirs; Wythe marries Elizabeth Taliaferro
