George Wythe thanks John Norton for sending him a business estimate, but informs him he cannot afford most of what is mentioned. He also shares him that a friend came to visit him recently.

Dear Sir,
I am much obliged to you for the estimate you was so good as to send me by capt. Robinson, which I received this morning. The articles exceeded what I can afford; and therefore I shall content myself without most of them if not all. My friend J.H.N. was at our house two days since, and seemed to be in good health. I am
