George Wythe writes to Mr. Donald about modifying the rate of exchange for their most recent transaction.

Letter text

Since your scruples, my good sir, forbid you to charge me more than twenty percent for difference of exchange, let me have a bill for so much of the price of the tobacco as of that rate is equal to forty two pounds and ten shillings sterling, retaining the residence until i shall have the pleasure to see you in Richmond about the middle of next month. i am unfeignedly

your well-wisher,

and obedient servant
