This book is a Latin to German thesaurus which was compiled by Basilius Faber. Faber, a Lutheran schoolmaster and theologian, was born in Żary (German: Sorau), in lower Lusatia, in 1520.[1] In 1538 he entered the University of Wittenberg, studying as pauper gratis under Philipp Melanchthon. [2] This is Faber's best known work due to its widespread work in schooling.[3]
